Mar 16, 2026

Healing your inner child. A concept you've probably heard before without always measuring itdeep impact that he may have on your personal life and professional. We often imagine it as something sweet and cute, a little bubble of innocence to cherish. But, in reality, this path of healing the inner child is anything but linear.

It can awaken buried anger, old wounds, and highlight the sabotage mechanisms that you still repeat today, without wanting to, or seeing it.

It influences your way of loving, of setting your limits, of showing you... And even the way you run your project or business.

What is the injured inner child? Understanding it to better heal it

Inner child is this part of you that wears the emotional memory of your childhood: joys, wounds and significant experiences.

When it has not been heard, loved or protected, it develops survival mechanisms. He learns to hide his pain behind the ego, to cut off his real needs, to reproduce behaviors of emotional dependence.

The more hurt this part of you is, the stronger the ego is to protect it, but, by the way, it's adult sabotage that you have become.

Maybe you've been there before. manifestation of your inner child, without necessarily reporting. For example :

  • You live unbalanced relationships (like partners who do not engage).
  • You ask a thousand questions before you take action.
  • You're having trouble saying no without guilt.
  • You feel anger hard to understand.
  • You feel like you have to do everything perfectly, otherwise you won't be enough...
  • You dare not be you, but the « A wise little girl. »
  • Sometimes you even wonder how others dare to do certain things, while you feel stuck.

These little reactions, almost automatic, are often the echoes of this child who has lacked internal security, love or the gratitude he needed.

As stated Carl Gustav Jung :
« What you resist persists. What you accept changes. »

Healing your inner child, it is to offer him today what he did not receive yesterday, so that your adult choices are no longer dictated by his fears.

Why do you feel stuck, even when you know what you should do?

You are aware of the impact of your inner child on your life. Your head knows What you should do: talk about your project, set your limits, say yes to what makes you vibrate. But, something inside you resists. One invisible brake. You procrastinate, you think too much, you don't dare. You're afraid to disturb, to crash...

It's not a sting or a lack of will. It's your inner child who is still trying to protect you, with the means he learned long before you became an adult.
He doesn't know your plan, your vision, your power today. It remains frozen at a time when it was better to be silent not to wave, overadapt to be loved or disappear a little so as not to disturb.

This is where the internal conflict :

  • The adult in you who wants to move forward, create, exist fully.
  • The child in you still thinks it's dangerous.

You go back and forth: one step forward, three steps back. You try, then you brake. You throw something, then you doubt. You want to create bigger, but, you hide as soon as it's visible.

This constant come-and-go makes you think you're the problem. That you never do enough, or that you never get there like the others.
While in reality, you are simply doing your best with mechanisms that seek to protect you.
And all this is gruelling.

As long as this inner child is not healed, you continue to give up yourself, and you exhaust yourself in strategies that do not honor.

Healing your inner childIt is to transform this resistance into an alliance, to finally move forward with clarity, coherence and energy.

What the research on the healing of the inner child says

Positive psychology has shown that recognize and integrating repressed emotions are essential to regain inner serenity.

The researcher Brene Brown Just remind him:
« Vulnerability is not a weakness, it is the place where courage and creativity are born. »

To welcome and accept this vulnerability is to stop fighting against oneself.
It's a step away from letting your injured inner child guide your choices, your reactions, your posture.
It is a key to moving forward in a more aligned, anchored, authentic way.

Neurosciences are moving in the same direction. In his research on emotions and body (Molecules of Emotion), Candace Pert demonstrated that our feelings leave a physical footprint. Our emotions simmer in our cells.

That's why working with the inner child also goes through the body. Listen to body signals, tensions, blockages, so many precious invitations that only need to be decoded.

In my holistic approach, I am helping to recreate this fundamental link between:

  • your heart and body,
  • your mind and emotional,
  • Your past and your power present.

This work is based in particular on the 6 internal intelligences emotional, body, intuitive, mental, energetic and spiritual. They allow you to highlight all the resources already present in you, but often asleep or underexploited.
